Habitat: Moist, open, calcareous sedge-grass meadow (main part of this prairie fen). Assoc.: Andropogon gerardii, Bromus ciliatus, Elymus (Agropyron) trachycaulus, Schizachyrium scoparium, Spartina pectinata, Carex stricta, Eriophorum angustifolium, Teucrium canadense. var. virginicum, and Salix candida. Relatively dry, somewhat tussocky, very grassy sedge meadow (originally a fen, very slowly drying out owing to the deepening and straightening of the spring run sometime in the 1980's).
