edge of cornfield, previously tilled soil, sandy. few plants; tall biennal, in 2nd year & fruiting; taproot w/ distinct carrot aroma; stem to 4ft tall & grooved; lvs. pinnately compound, leaflets deeply toothed, maybe slightly lobed. Fl.yellow comp. umbels,fruits dorsally flat, oval, pale green to gold.
