NE facing sandstone hillside in recently abandoned pasture with seeps and springs. Assoc.: Rosa multiflora, Achillea millefolium, Krigia biflora, Solidago nemoralis, Potentilla simplex, P. recta, Viola sagittata, Lobelia spicata, dandylion, red clover. 11 plants 8-18inch. tall widely scattered all along hillside from bottom in a water-washed ditch to the top of the ridge. Only a few open creamy-green flowers, some plants only with young buds. Ridged stem, lower leaves clasping. Also photos.
