Habitat:
Level ground near top of ravine slope, base of Fraxinus americana. Canopy F. americana, Betula papyrifera, Tilia americana. Herb: Poa sp., Fragaria (abundant), Taraxacum officinale, Carex pallescens (EHZ 499), Aster macrophyllus, Solidago sp. Acer saccharum seedling. Soil friable, brown, pH 8.0 (Hellige-Truog method).
