Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Douglas, 1.4mi W on Hwy M from Hwy 53; N 0.1-0.2mi on sandy side road overlooking a small, boomerang-shaped lake. Site is 40 paces W of lake, N of drainage on E-facing slope.

Georeference Remarks: Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Habitat: Savanna/grassland on former Jack Pine plantation. P. paupercula found where clumps of Corylus americana and Salix are growing, but not in dense grassy areas surrounding them. With Andropogon gerardii, Vaccinium angustifolium, Bromus kalmii, Koeleria. macrantha. Soil is sand mixed with organic matter, at this time very dry. P. paupercula growing preferentially in open places without directly contacting other sps.
