Habitat: an isolated sandstone peak (alt. 1060 ft.); Steep, open W-facing sandy prairie, on talus of sandstone cliff (with large clumps of Juniperus communis var. depressa, J. virginiana , dominated by Bouteloua curtipendula, B. hirsuta, Sporobolus asper , also Scutellaria leonardi, Arabis lyrata, Monarda puncatata . (very dry)
