Assoc. with Geum canadense, Onoclea sensibilis, Osmunda claytoniana, Dryopteris spinulosa var. spinulosa, Carex tenera, Hackelia virginiana, Aster lateriflorus, Rubus strigosus, and Cornus foemina ssp. racemosa Cor. white.
