Habitat: High-quality dry prairie remnant on thin soil over dolomite, 2/3rds of the way up moderate SE-facing slope. Assoc.: Bouteloua curtipendula, Euphorbia corollata, Helianthus pauciflorus, Schizachyrium scoparium, Symphyotrichum ericoides, and Symphyotrichum oolentangiense.
Occurrence Remarks: Local, ca. 40 plants. Stems red-violet; calyx lobes 1.5--2.1 mm long.
