Habitat:
Old Growth Pine Forest. Growing in woods at base of northwest-facing wooded bluff along dirt access road on the east side of the Brule River through pine dominated woods. Growing with Abies balsamifera, Acer rubrum, Pinus strobus, Betule lutea, Cornus canadensis, Aralia nudicaulis, Clintonia borealis, Maianthemum canadensis, Moneses uniflora, etc.
