Habitat:
City park, the lawn with mostly large Acer saccharum, with apperance of natural woods which has been opnened up for a park, with a few large Quercus macrocarpa and Acer accharinum and scattered newer plantings.
Occurrence Remarks:
The Acer accharum differ greatly from tree to tree in bark characteristics, ranging from regularly and longitudinally furrowed and tight, to scaly to almost platy. Tree 70 cm. in diameter; bark coarsely furrowed, tight, sometimes with looser plates. Fruit with seed portion green and wings dried and tan.
