W-facing dry prairie on crest of dolomite-capped sandstone ridge, lower-middle elev. near edge of dry Quercus-Betula-Tilia woods. Assoc.: Comandra umbellata, Gentianella quinqueflora ssp. occidentalis, Helianthus occidentalis, Lithospermum canescens, Monarda fistulosa, Pedicularis canadensis, Phlox pilosa, Silphium laciniatum, Sorghastrum nutans (locally dominant), & Quercus macrocarpa saplings.
Occurrence Remarks:
Rare. Smaller northern spine of the southern of the two prairies.
