Habitat: Toward upper edge of floodplain forest of Acer saccharinum, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Betula nigra, & Quercus bicolor, in this area with fewer sloughs & ponds than nearer the river, with very low sandy ridges & wet hollows; assoc.: Bromus latiglumis, Carex crinita, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Galium obtusum, Ilex verticillata, Onoclea sensibilis, & Symphyotrichum lateriflorum.
