Growing with Quercus macrophylla, Q. rubra, Comptonia peregrina, Diervilla lonicera, Achillea millefolium, Andropogon gerardii, Apocynum androsaemifolium, Carex pensylvanica, Heucherea richardsonii, Hieracium scabrum, Liatris aspera, Solidago hispida, S. speciosa, etc.
