Habitat:
Old Growth Pine Forest. Growing in woods at base of northwest-facing wooded bluff along dirt access road on the east side of the Brule River through pine dominated woods. Growing with Acer rubrum, Pinus strobus, Betule lutea, Ostrya virginiana, Corylus cornuta, Aralia racemosa, Fallopia cilinodis, Plantago major, Polygonatum pubescens, etc.
