Habitat: Sandbar in river, with thin but extensive stand of minute plants in unshaded, bare sand. Plants healthy but dwarf and evidently this sandbar has only recently emerged above water. Mollugo verticillata, Cyperus squarrosus, Amaranthus tuberculatus, Eragrostis pectinacea, Hemicarpha micrantha, Persicaria lapathifolia, P. pensylvanica.
Occurrence Remarks: Some plants erect and yellow-green, some prostrate and dark reddish.
