Habitat: Channel in floodplain forest of Acer saccharinum, Betula nigra, Quercus bicolor.
Occurrence Remarks: A submersed aquatic with only the abundant, erect, light reddish inflorescences above the water. Plants branched and rooted in the bottom, but many of the stems only fragments only 15-25 cm long, but these also healthy and flowering.
