Habitat: Old Growth Pine Forest. Growing on top of ridge in grassy opening with Acer rubrum, Pinus strobus, Aralia nudicaulis, Pteridium aquilinum, Carex pensylvanica, Maianthemum canadense, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Oryzopsis asperifolia, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. Herb, sap tan colored.
