Sand barrens on level sandy ground slightly higher than adjacent floodplain, secondary succession on abandoned ag. land, open in places or with thin cover of shrubs & pole-sized trees (Quercus ellipsoidalis, Corylus americana, Pinus banksiana); assoc.: Juncus tenuis, Poa compressa, P. pratensis, Solidago nemoralis, & Teucrium canadense.
Occurrence Remarks:
Infrequent. Also on adjacent roadside in open ground w/ richer assemblage of associates. Per. (2.7)3.4--3.8 X (1.9)2.4--2.8 mm.
