Habitat: Growing in moist, peaty soil once apparently scraped bare with a skidder; separated from road by a 2-m berm, under canopy of Abies balsamea and Acer rubrum, low shrub layer of Cornus alternifolia and Diervilla lonicera, with Oryzopsis canadensis, Eurybia macrophylla, Maianthemum canadensis, Schizachne purpurascens, and Actaea rubra in herb layer.
Occurrence Remarks: Common in strip ca. 2 by 10 m long, otherwise not seen in surrounding area. Young fruits on many plants. Collected here previously by P. Goggin in 2002 (UWSP accession139991).
