Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Douglas, Brule River State Forest on Cedar Island. East side of Brule River across from Rainbow Bend and about 3.5 mi W of Douglas Co. and Bayfield Co. line in Douglas Co.. About 0.6 mi W and 0.3 mi N of the Cedar Island Airport.

Habitat: Old Growth Pine Forest. Growing on little west of south-facing (210°) slope with Acer rubrum, Pinus resinosa, P. strobus, Populus grandidentata, Aralia nudicaulis, Pteridium aquilinum, Carex pensylvanica, Erigeron strigosus, Maianthemum canadense, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. Tree on steep slope tree about 6 inches d.b.h.
