Habitat: Young woods, on E-facing slope, with Carya cordiformis, Tilia americana, Fraxinus americana, Ostrya virginiana, with Podophyllum peltatum.
Occurrence Remarks: Shrub 5 m. tall (becoming to 6 m. tall here), 9 cm. in diameter; bark finely flaky. Cut wood with unpleasant odor of Valerianaceae. In full bloom, and presentation very similar to that of no. 60075 Cornus alternifolia also blooming here now; flowers white. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw.
