Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Waupaca, Skunk and Foster Lakes SNA, W of Grenlie Lake Rd. 1.9 mi. N of US Hwy 10 and 0.7 mi. S of CTH V, 0.5 mi. mi. E of Portage Co. line, 8 mi. due NW of Waupaca. Above NW corner of Grenlie Lake, closer to unnamed ("green frog") pond than Grenlie Lake.

Habitat: Along deer trail or secondary trail on recessional moraine covered with sugar maple (Acer saccharum)-white pine (Pinus strobus)-white birch (Betula papyrifera) forest. Assoc.: Acer saccharum, Betula papyrifera, and Pinus strobus seedlings, Circaea lutetiana subsp. canadensis, Dryopteris intermedia, Galium triflorum, Osmorhiza claytoniana, Parietaria pensylvanica, Phryma leptostachya, and Thalictrum dioicum.
Occurrence Remarks: Locally freqeunt. Ca. 30 large plants and 50 seedlings along a 20-foot stretch of trail.
