Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Douglas, Brule River State Forest located E of Amnicon Falls State Park and N of US SR 2. At bridge crossing on Secondary Rd. FF over Brule River about 1.1 mi W of junction of Secondary Rds. FF & H and about 0.5 mi S of Wisconsin Secondary Rd. FF

Habitat: Upland Forest on the E side of the Brule River and just W of Len Root Road. Growing in Boreal Forest in opening in upland woods formed about a small swale area with Abies balsamea, Acer rubrum. Fraxinus nigra, Populus tremuloides, Quercus rubra (saplings), Aralia nudicaulis, Cornus canadensis, C. sericea, Pteridium aquilinum, Aster macrophyllus, Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex castanea, C. gracillima, Fragaria virginiana, Galium triflorum, Maianthemum canadense, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. Herb with blue flower, the flowers yellow with a yellow center.
