Habitat:
On edge of mature pine plantation. Well-drained, sandy soil, in nearly full sun. Under light shade of scattered, large Pinus resinosa and subcanopy Acer rubrum. Also with Diervilla lonicera, Gaultheria procumbens and Maianthemum canadense.
Occurrence Remarks:
A 2.5 m tall, multistemmed shrub. Flowers white. Locally common.
