Occurrence Remarks:
The plants were coarse; the panicle dense, chocolate-purple, with overlapping arched-ascending branches incurved at their tips; the lower paleas purple. See General Comments for more. The spikelets seemed indistinguishable from E. crusgalli (including the firm tip of the sterile lemma), and the specimen may actually be only that.
