Habitat: Along 24 m ditch, bordering large, planted Thuja occidentalis and hardwood-conifer forest. Mucky, somewhat sandy soil. Co-dominant with Pharlaris arundinacea. Calamagrostis canadnesis and Onoclea sensibilis common also.
