Habitat: Muck bottom in 0-2.5 meters of water. Common assoc.: (Ceratophyllum demersum) coontail, (Myriophyllum spicatum) Eurasian water milfoil, (Potamogeton pusillus) small pondweed, (Potamogeton robbinsii) Robbins (fern) pondweed.
Occurrence Remarks: Abundant and widespread throughout; along with coontail and EWM, the deepest growing macrophyte in the flowage.
