Habitat:
Small bog (approx. 20 acres). To the N of the bog; small peninsulas of Tsuja canadensis and Pinus strobus; dry soil. To the south of the bog; gorgeous ridge of mature Quercus rubra. Bog consists of Larix laricina, Picea mariana, Lycopodium spp., and Sphagnum spp. Area is relatively thick with dead branches. Picea mariana is extremely stunted in growth.
