Habitat: Variable substrate in 1-1.5 meters of water. Common assoc.: (Potamogeton pusillus) small pondweed, (Potamogeton zosteriformis) flat-stem pondweed, (Ceratophyllum demersum) coontail, (Myriophyllum spicatum) Eurasian water milfoil,
Occurrence Remarks: A rare plant, it seems to prefer habitat that is also ideal for EWM. More so than other species, White-stem seemed to be absent in areas EWM had taken over. More plants occured in channel where EWM was still relatively uncommon.
