Habitat: Variable substrate in 1-3 meters of water. It seemed to be most common in areas that had some, but not thick muck over gravel. Common assoc.: (Potamogeton pusillus) small pondweed, (Potamogeton zosteriformis) flat-stem pondweed, (Ceratophyllum demersum), (Ranunculus aquatilis) stiff water crowfoot, (Myriophyllum sibiricum) northern water milfoil.
