Habitat: Prefers thick muck soil in and out of water <0.5 meters. Common assoc.: (Phalaris arundinacea) reed canary grass, (Typha latifolia) broad-leaved cattail, (Sagittaria latifolia) common arrowhead, (Cicuta bulbifera) blue-bearing water hemlock, (Calla palustris) water arum.
Occurrence Remarks: Common but not abundant. Primarily found on shore in undeveloped low areas; especially near the river inlet; scattered locations along shore throughout lake and little lake.
