Habitat: Sand bottoms in 0-2 meters. Common assoc.: (Chara sp.) muskgrass, (Potamogeton gramineus) variable pondweed, (Myriophyllum tenellum) dwarf water milfoil, (Eleocharis acicularis) needle spikerush, (Najas flexilis) bushy pondweed.
Occurrence Remarks: Almost exclusively located on the southern shore where it was formed dense carpets with other "Isoetid" associates.
