Habitat: Located floating at or just under the surface in sheltered areas. Common assoc.: (Brasenia schreberi) watershield, (Nymphaea odorata) white water lily, (Nuphar variegata) spatterdock, (Pontederia cordata) pickerelweed, (Spirodela polyrhiza) large duckweed, (Utricularia gibba) creeping bladderwort, (Utricularia vulgaris) common bladderwort, (Ceratophyllum demersum) coontail, (Potamogeton zosteriformis) flat-stem pondweed.
Occurrence Remarks: Almost exclusively located in "Mud Lake". Scattered individuals were interspersed between the lilypads.
