Habitat:
Rocky and sandy bottoms in 0-1 meter of water. Common assoc.: (Eleocharis palustris) creeping spikerush, (Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani) softstem bulrush, (Vallisneria americana) wild celery, (Sagittaria rigida) sessile-fruited arrowhead, (Zizania palustris) northern wild rice.
Occurrence Remarks:
Common in scattered reed beds along or on the shore; especially on exposed points. The most common reed on both lakes.
