Rocky to sandy bottoms in 0-2 meters of water. Common assoc.: (Myriophyllum tenellum) dwarf water milfoil, (Juncus pelocarpus) brown-fruited rush, (Ranunculus flammula) creeping spearwort, (Utricularia resupinata) small purple bladderwort.
