Habitat: Muck bottom along the shoreline to water < 0.5 meters deep. Common assoc.: (Typha latifolia) broad-leaved cattail, (Eleocharis erythropoda) red-footed spikerush, (Sagittaria latifolia) common arrowhead, (Schoenoplectus fluviatilis) river bulrush, (Carex comosa) bottle-brush sedge.
Occurrence Remarks: Normally occurs in scattered small patches; especially common on the southeast shore in the bay immediately north and west of the creek outlet.
