Habitat:
Hardwood seep. Growing in a small seep area, surrounded by mesic forest. There are some canopy gaps over the seep and other areas are quite shaded. Ostrich fern is the overwhelmming dominant because of density and height. It appears that the water flows into this basin and stagnates (no apparent outlet stream). Carex prasina is present in dense stands, both under the ostrich fern and in more shaded areas of the seep where there is no ostrich fern.
