Habitat: Rare in oak barrens. Site more mesic than typical barrens in this area. Dominated by Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Bromus kalmii and scattered Quercus ellipsoidalis, Populus tremuloides, Corylus americana.; Sand.
Associated Species: Populus tremuloides, Salix humilis, Fragaria virginiana, Pedicularis canadensis.
