Habitat: Uncommon in sand barrens on south-facing slope dominated by prairie grasses and grub oaks (primarily Quercus ellipsoidalis). Most commonly observed at base of shrubs.; Sand.
Associated Species: Schizachyrium scoparium, Lupinus perennis, Lespedeza capitata, Carex pensylvanica, Carex siccata, Symphyotrichum sp., Maianthemum stellatum, Helianthus sp.
