Habitat:
Grassy bank along creek, with Bromus inermis, Phalaris arundinacea, Artemisia serrata, Symphyotrichum novae-angliae, S. lanceolatum, Polygonatum biflorum and scattered Salix interior, S. x fragilis, Acer negundo.
Occurrence Remarks:
Shurb 5 m. tall, with many stems in a clump; this and others here with similar habit were probably mowed off in the past and have sprouted from single stems. Many galls present.
