Habitat:
Marshy floodplain, Phalaris arundinacea dominant in open areas, with brushy areas and some trees, Acer negundo, Ulmus americana, Cornus obliqua, Salix x fragilis.
Occurrence Remarks:
Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw.; Tight clump of ca. 20 stems; this stem nearly the largest at 3.5 cm. in diameter, 8 years old, the stems erect or arching, then when getting this large, falling over dying. Second year twigs coppery purplish; pith tan. Fruit green.
