Habitat:
Thin floodplain woods with marshy openings, Acer saccharinum, Salix nigra, Ulmus americana, Populus deltoides, Quercus bicolor, Fraxinus pennsylvanica. With Rumex verticillatus, Carex lupulina, Iris virginica, Ribes americanum.
Occurrence Remarks:
Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw.; Shrub, now in shallow water, to 3 m. tall, 2.1 cm. in diameter, 6 or 7 years old, the stems leaning and/or arching and some longer than 3 m, forming a loose clump of ca. 20 living stems; ptih tan. leaves very pale beneath.
