Habitat: Marshy area in floodplain between base of dry sandy slope and water level. Dominated by Phalaris arundinacea and Carex pellita, C. lupulina, with a few small trees.
Occurrence Remarks: Patch 3 m. in diameter. Baase of stems with characteristic pleasant odor. Fruiting inflorescences maturing light brown and then disintegrating.
