Locality:
United States, Wisconsin, Dane, Near the north side of Rutland-Dunn Town Line Road just west of Hawkinson Road, about 4 miles east of the village of Oregon.
Habitat:
Southeast part of a large wetland ina depression in rolling land, cultivated maize on the upland. Although B. fluviatilis is common in adjacent areas all other stnads seen lacked inflorescences.
Occurrence Remarks:
Plants erect, about 1 1/2 m. tall, rhisomatous, many shoots (pseudoculms) without inflorescences, in a large nearly pure stand, with Phalaris arundinacea, etc.
