Habitat: Mississippi River floodplain, disturbed both naturally and by park activities. Thin woods of Betula nigra, Populus deltoides, Ulmus pumila, Acer saccharinum, Celtis occidentalis, with Boehmeria cylindrica, Laportea canadensis.
Occurrence Remarks: Common, but only a few beginning to bloom. With no. 65252 Acalypha rhomboidea and easily mistaken for it.
