Habitat:
Young white oak/pin oak/red maple woods with very open understory (surrounding area burned recently, this area maybe cleared mechanically)
Occurrence Remarks:
About 6' from a kettle wetland; understory with Pteridium and Carex pensylvanica dominant. Other assoc: Rubus hispidus, Gaylussacia, Rubus sp, Symphyotrichum urophyllum. Growing in thick duff overlaying sandy loam soil. Often in mossy patches.
