Habitat: Rare, in slightly overgrown sand prairie/oak barrens. Area dominated by Quercus macrocarpa, Quercus ellipsoidalis, Corylus americana, Rubus sp., Schizachyrium scoparium, Panicum virgatum. Associates include Lithospermum caroliniense, Amorpha canescens, Lespedeza capitata, Coreopsis palmata, Solidago speciosa, Symphyotrichum oolantagiense.
