Habitat: Occasional in sand prairie/oak barrens dominated by Quercus macrocarpa, Quercus ellipsoidalis, Corylus americana, Rubus sp., Andropogon gerardii, Schizachyrium scoparium. Associates include Coreopsis palmata, Dalea purpurea, Solidago nemoralis, Solidago speciosa, Lithospermum caroliniense.
