Habitat: Plants occasional to common in sandy openings near crest of dry prairie dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium, Hesperostipa spartea, Andropogon gerardii. Associates include Crocanthemum canandense, Phemeranthus rugospermus, Selaginella rupestris.
