Flat, sandy, old field, now unused and scheduled for commercial development, grassy, with Asclepias syriaca, A. verticillata, Verbena stricta, Melilotus alba, M. officinalis, a few small Ulmus pumila and Rhus cf. typhina. Only a few aggressive native prairie species (prairie plants have been planted on recently constructed embankment of Hwy. 18).
Plants all dead and dried now. The white tuft of hairs closing mouth of calyx is quite conspicuous.
